Iran Darroudi made this painting, "Space," and I can almost feel the moment she began layering these colors, one on top of the other. It's like watching a landscape being built from the ground up. The material quality here is really something else. The paint is applied in washes that create a sense of depth, like you could step right into this world. Look closely at that fiery red section at the bottom; it's like a raw, exposed nerve. The way she lets the paint drip and blend, it’s almost like she's not in control, and that's what makes it so alive. It makes me think about process, about letting go. You know, this reminds me a little of Helen Frankenthaler, but with a darker, more emotional edge. It's that idea of allowing the paint to have its own say, embracing the mess, and finding beauty in the unexpected. Because after all, isn't that what art's all about?
