"Pacot.-- Te vois bien, Gladio, on s'est aperçu que c'était caporal Ferdinand, on général, s'importe quoi! que si c'était bleu, on s'mitapricorn" is a lithograph by Jean Ignace Isidore Gérard Grandville, a prominent French caricaturist of the 19th century. Known for his satirical depictions of human nature through animal figures, this print from 1854 presents a scene of a man, a woman, and a child with animal heads, their conversation filled with nonsense and humor. The man is pointing at something in a shop window while the woman, dressed in a long white dress, looks on with amusement, illustrating the absurdity of social interactions and the folly of pretense. The lithograph is part of a series titled "Les Metamorphoses du Jour" (The Metamorphoses of the Day), a testament to Grandville's innovative use of anthropomorphism to satirize societal norms.
