This painted pianoforte, crafted by Stein, Frere et Soeur between 1794 and 1802, is a beautiful example of the craftsmanship of the late 18th century. The instrument features delicate floral and landscape motifs, a bird perched on a branch, and a charming scene of figures in a garden, all painted on the wooden surface. The pianoforte is currently on display at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City.
