"Fragment" is a textile fragment created by the Chimú culture of ancient Peru, dated to between 1000 and 1532. The piece is a fragment of a larger textile, and features intricate geometric patterns woven in white thread on a dark background. This fragment is an example of the skillful textile production that was a hallmark of the Chimú civilization. The piece is currently on display at The Art Institute of Chicago.
