Cornelis Visscher’s 1650 etching, “H. Engelmundus van Engeland,” depicts a saint holding a book and a staff. The image is characteristic of Visscher’s highly detailed and realistic style. The work is a fine example of Dutch 17th-century religious art, and is on display at the Rijksmuseum. It is believed to be a portrait of Engelmund of England, a 10th-century English bishop.
