Editor: Jack Gould’s tiny, vibrant photo, "Untitled (men at Air Force control table)," gives us a candid peek inside what feels like a mid-century military operation. There's a distinct sense of focused intensity amidst all those wires. What do you read into this scene? Curator: It's interesting, isn’t it? To me, it’s like a stage play, almost absurd. They're surrounded by these heavy, technical devices, yet look like they're having a board meeting. Do you feel that tension too, between the ordinary and the extraordinary? Editor: Absolutely! This blends banality and high stakes. I hadn't quite placed my finger on why I was so drawn to it. Curator: Right? And it makes you wonder about the human element, the decisions made in that confined space. What do those expressions tell us?
