This 'Jelly Tumbler' was made by Van Silvay, who lived between 1855 and 1995. There's something really lovely about the quietness of this piece. It's all about subtlety and understatement, right? Looking closely, the light isn't just light, it's like a whisper of color, barely there but totally essential. And the paper? It’s got this beautiful, aged quality that makes the whole thing feel like a memory, fragile and precious. The way Silvay captured the transparency of the glass, it’s almost like you could reach out and touch it, feel the coolness against your skin. I love how Silvay’s work here reminds me of Giorgio Morandi, you know? Both of them had this knack for finding the extraordinary in the ordinary, turning simple objects into these deeply resonant experiences.
