This is an untitled artwork by László Moholy-Nagy, and I'm interested in how he makes a painting feel like it's constructing a whole new way of seeing. The color palette is limited—mostly blacks, whites, and grays—but it's how he uses these tones that gets me going. The composition is an arrangement of geometric shapes, and there's a real tension between the solid blocks of color and the more translucent areas. It’s almost like he's building up layers of space, inviting you to see through the surface. Look closely, and you'll notice the textures are smooth in some parts, rougher in others. I like the long, slightly angled rectangle running down the left, it gives a sense of dynamism, as if everything is about to shift. This piece reminds me of El Lissitzky's Proun series, where he also used geometry to create these abstract, utopian visions. It’s all about suggesting possibilities rather than dictating meanings.
