This 17th-century etching by an anonymous artist depicts the element of earth as a cherubic figure kneeling in a field. The cherub holds a basket overflowing with fruit and vegetables, representing the bounty of the earth. The artwork, titled "Element aarde als kind met schaal met fruit en groenten voor korenveld in ovaal," is a fine example of allegorical art and is currently housed in the Rijksmuseum.
