Here's a photograph of young students from Hermannsberg, a branch of Schule Schloss Salem, staging a performance in the woods. There's something magical about this scene, a band of young students dressed in what looks like medieval garb, right there in the woods. You can almost smell the damp earth and hear their hushed whispers before the performance begins. I'm trying to imagine what it must have been like to be there with them, the excitement, the nerves, the camaraderie of putting on a show together. I bet the photographer felt it too, and tried to capture that feeling in their work. It reminds me of folk art and the raw creativity that comes from a place of community. Like an artist, they build a new world by combining their knowledge and experience. Every shot, every performance, is an experiment, a way of seeing and experiencing the world. Each creative work inspires others, and so the conversation continues through time.
