Editor: Here we have "Vine-dresser Going to Town with the Children" by Bartolomeo Pinelli. It looks like an etching, and it feels very intimate, like a snapshot of daily life. What do you see in this piece that I might be missing? Curator: For me, it's about the journey, the small epic of getting to town. Look at how Pinelli uses line to suggest movement and the weight of those baskets. Imagine the sounds, the smells... it's a whole world contained in this tiny plate! What do you think the artist wants to evoke with this image? Editor: That's a great way to put it! I hadn't really thought about the sounds and smells, but now it makes so much more sense. Thanks for the insight. Curator: My pleasure! I'll never look at a donkey the same way again.
