Nimf met een hond 1581 - 1631

"Nimf met een hond" (Nymph with a Dog), an etching by Jacob Matham, was created sometime between 1581 and 1631. The print depicts a nude nymph seated on a rock, with her hand resting on a draped cloth. A dog, possibly a hound, is sitting at her feet. The image is characteristic of Matham’s work, known for its detailed rendering of figures and landscapes, as well as its use of light and shadow. The work, which is part of the Rijksmuseum collection, measures 179mm in height and 119mm in width.
