Monstrans omringd door engelen 1628

"Monstrans omringd door engelen" (1628) by Christoffel van (II) Sichem is an engraving depicting a monstrance surrounded by angels. The monstrance is a sacred vessel used in Catholic Mass to display the consecrated host, and in this image it is being held aloft in the clouds by angels. The artwork is a small engraving measuring 104 mm in height and 75 mm in width, and is currently housed in the Rijksmuseum. The image is a fine example of the engraver's skill and attention to detail, particularly in the depiction of the angelic figures and the clouds.
