Editor: This etching, "There Isn't Time Now" by Goya, portrays a chaotic scene with figures in conflict. It’s a pretty grim image; what do you make of it? Curator: Ah, Goya. He pulls no punches, does he? I see a snapshot of brutality, a world where survival is a desperate struggle. The darks and lights create a mood of impending doom, that's for sure. Are those defenders, or aggressors, I wonder? Editor: I hadn’t thought of that! It’s hard to tell who is who, isn't it? Curator: Exactly! Goya wants us to question easy answers. It seems like time is running out for everyone involved. It is a sharp commentary on human nature, wouldn't you agree? Editor: I do. It's almost too much to take in, but I'm glad I spent the time. Curator: Me too. Goya always leaves me contemplating.
