Curator: Here we see Ivor Abrahams' "Arch III," a print whose stark contrasts evoke a sense of monumentality. Editor: It’s striking how the rough texture of the printmaking medium gives the arch a raw, almost primordial feel. You can practically feel the grain. Curator: The arch is such a potent symbol, isn't it? A threshold, a passage... This one, rendered so darkly, almost reads as a gateway to the underworld. Editor: Absolutely, but I also wonder about the physical act of creation here. What tools did Abrahams use? How did the pressure of the printmaking process shape the final image? The mark-making feels so immediate. Curator: It's a powerful image, hinting at both personal and collective histories. Editor: Indeed. Thinking about the process really illuminates its power.
