"Kippen en kalkoenen" (Chickens and Turkeys) is an etching by Boëtius Adamsz. Bolswert dating from the early 17th century. The artwork features a detailed depiction of a still life with chickens and turkeys as well as a few eggs, baskets, and a bowl. The artist uses masterful hatching and cross-hatching to create a sense of depth and volume in the image. This print, part of the Rijksmuseum collection, is a prime example of the 17th-century Dutch fascination with naturalism and detail, evident in both the animals and their surroundings.
