"Dansend boerenpaar" (Dancing Peasant Couple), a 17th-century etching by Nicolaes Cornelisz. Witsen, depicts a lively scene of a couple dancing. The man, with his hat in hand, leads the woman in a spirited whirl, their movements captured with dynamic lines. The simple setting, with a table and overturned objects, adds to the sense of movement and spontaneity. Witsen, known for his drawings and etchings, captured the daily life of the Dutch people in this charming and playful work. This work is currently part of the Rijksmuseum's collection.
