Rainer Fetting made this painting, Kuss blau-rot, with striking colors and bold strokes, showing us how art is really a conversation between feeling and form. The way Fetting lays down paint is so present, right? Thick and juicy, you can almost feel the bristles dancing across the canvas. Check out how the cool blues clash with the warm reds and oranges; it's like a visual shout, full of tension and energy. Then notice the line where the faces meet, it's not precise, but smudged, hinting at the messiness of intimacy. For me, this painting has a similar energy to some of the early Fauvist painters. I think both capture a raw, almost primal sense of emotion through colour and gesture. What do you think?
