Paperweight c. 1850

This "Paperweight" from c. 1850 was crafted by the Baccarat Glass Works and features the iconic "Millefiori" technique, meaning "thousand flowers" in Italian. The glasswork is known for its intricate patterns created by fusing together rods of colored glass, resulting in beautiful, three-dimensional floral designs that appear to float within the clear glass. This technique was particularly popular in the 19th century and is still used today by glassmakers around the world.
