"Personificatie van de Dood galopperend op een paard" is an etching by Dutch artist Henri-Charles Guérard (1846-1897). The artwork depicts Death, personified as a skeleton, riding a horse through a desolate landscape. The skeletal rider is cloaked in a flowing robe and holds a sword in one hand while guiding the steed with the other. The dramatic composition and meticulous detail evoke a sense of urgency and foreboding, highlighting the inevitability of Death. This etching, created sometime between 1856 and 1897, is now housed in the Rijksmuseum.
