"Onsdag. Merkur sidder med stav og pengepose" (Wednesday. Mercury sits with staff and money bag), is a 1743-1809 ink drawing on paper by the Danish artist Nicolai Abildgaard. It depicts the Roman god Mercury seated in the clouds, a caduceus in his left hand and a money bag in his right. The drawing is part of a series of drawings of the days of the week, each featuring a different god. This work is a testament to Abildgaard's mastery of Neoclassical style, evident in the meticulous line work and idealized representation of the figure.
