Editor: Here we have "Wild Flowers", an acrylic painting by Mahmud Taghiyev. I'm immediately drawn to its childlike simplicity and bright, almost clashing, color palette. The strokes seem quick, direct… carefree, even. What’s your take on it? Curator: Carefree, yes! It reminds me of that raw, unfiltered joy you find in a child's drawing, that pure impulse to capture beauty without any of the self-doubt we accrue as we grow. Look at the way he’s rendered the vase; it’s almost like he’s trying to trap the light itself. Isn't that wonderful? And do you notice how the background buzzes with that orange hue? Editor: I do! The orange background almost vibrates against the blues and greens. I wasn’t sure if I liked it at first, but it’s definitely growing on me. Is this... intentionally naive, do you think? Or simply the artist's style? Curator: Oh, I think it's a conscious choice to tap into that primal, almost childlike vision. Taghiyev isn’t shying away from technical perfection; he's actively choosing a different lens. It makes you wonder what he’s trying to say about the beauty we often overlook, doesn’t it? About the stories hiding within the everyday. Editor: That’s fascinating! It makes you consider that the way a child paints isn't incorrect. It's a different, equally valid way of seeing. It’s so full of joy, and I hadn’t considered how intentional that might be. Curator: Exactly! And that intention, that’s where the magic lies, isn't it? A childlike vision but seen with grown-up eyes. Food for thought indeed.
