This is Sol LeWitt's Hanging Complex Form, created at an unknown date and with unknown materials, but I'm guessing it's made with painted wood or metal. LeWitt was all about the idea, and for him, the process of making art was almost like following a recipe. Now, look at how the light catches on the different facets of this pointy polyhedron. It's all white, so the shadows are super important for understanding the form. It looks like a giant, geometric icicle, or maybe a futuristic stalactite. There's a sharp point, and you wonder if it could hurt you, but then you also notice how elegant it is. LeWitt’s work is like a bridge between minimalism and conceptual art, kind of like what you see with some of Donald Judd's work. For LeWitt, it’s all about the concept, and the execution is almost secondary, the idea is what drives the work. Hanging Complex Form is about how simple forms can create complex and interesting shapes when they are combined in different ways.
