"Hvilende køer" (Resting Cows) is an etching by Dutch artist Jan van den Hecke I, created between 1619 and 1684. This artwork depicts a group of cows resting in a field. The detail in the etching is noticeable in the artist's rendering of the cows’ fur, creating a sense of realism. The cows' relaxed posture, the lush landscape, and the peaceful setting evoke a sense of tranquility. "Hvilende køer" is a fine example of Dutch Golden Age art, with its focus on naturalism and everyday life. Currently, it is on display at SMK - Statens Museum for Kunst.
