This white porcelain pitcher, produced by the Southern Porcelain Company between 1859 and 1862, is a fine example of 19th-century American ceramic artistry. The pitcher's intricate, molded design features a leafy pattern covering its surface and extending into the handle, adding a delicate and naturalistic touch to the functional object. The pitcher, measuring 9 1/2 x 8 3/4 inches, is currently part of the Metropolitan Museum of Art collection in New York City.
