Editor: So, this is David Gentleman's "The Wedge Plantation House." It's so serene. I keep imagining humid air and the chirping of insects. What do you see in this piece? Curator: It's got this wistful, slightly melancholic air, doesn't it? The old south, all gentility on the surface, but underneath... Well, let's just say those hanging vines could be tears, or shadows of a troubled past. What do you think? Editor: That’s an interesting point! I hadn’t considered the darker undertones, but I suppose it's impossible to separate the beauty from the history, huh? Curator: Exactly! It's like a beautiful song with a sad story hiding in the lyrics. Keeps you listening, doesn't it?
