Camilla d'Errico gave us this psychedelic scene with paint, maybe in the 21st century? What first struck me were the colours, how they just pop and drip and buzz! I imagine d'Errico in her studio, a real hive of activity, layering those colours to give the bees their fuzzy texture, each one different, like individual thoughts buzzing around a central idea. I imagine what it must have felt like to create this candy-coloured world, the joy of mixing the hues, the risk of letting the paint drip, creating that rainbow river. The way that bite mark transforms into a jewel-like cascade! It's not just about what we see, but also about the artist’s hand and mind. It's all about the process. I see a conversation happening here – a painter responding to other painters, echoing their ideas but making them entirely her own. It reminds us that making art is always a kind of exchange, a dance of ideas and inspirations across time.
