This Miquelet Pistol, created between 1765 and 1832, is a fine example of 18th-century firearms craftsmanship. Made by the Spanish gunsmith Llorens Torrens (1793-1824), the pistol features a polished steel barrel and intricate gold inlays on the wooden stock. The Miquelet lock mechanism, which is a type of flintlock, is visible on the top of the pistol and adds to its historical significance. The pistol is currently housed in the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City.
