"Songs of Experience: The Little Girl Lost (second plate); The Little Girl Found" is a 1789-1825 illuminated printing by William Blake. The artwork depicts a woman in a pink gown lying beneath a tree, while a lion stands in the lower half of the page. The two plates are a continuation of Blake’s exploration of the themes of innocence, experience, and the transition between them. Blake’s use of color, line, and form in the image is characteristic of his work, which is often referred to as Romanticism, but also includes elements of Symbolism and Pre-Raphaelite painting.
