This Wedgwood Sugar Bowl, dating from 1775–1800, showcases the renowned blue jasperware that the company became famous for. The bowl's blue glaze acts as a backdrop for the delicate white relief designs that decorate its surface. It depicts classical motifs, including a bull within an oval surrounded by floral ornamentation. This piece reflects the Neoclassical style that was popular in the late 18th century, inspired by classical Greek and Roman art. The Wedgwood Manufactory's mastery of ceramic production made their wares sought after by high society, demonstrating the aesthetic and cultural value of the era. The bowl is currently on display at The Art Institute of Chicago.
