The figures in the image appear as sentinels, quietly observing the rituals of power. This representation prompts us to consider the stories that are often left untold, the experiences of those who occupy the margins of such grand narratives. In viewing this work, we are reminded to look at the structures that shape our lives, and how these structures can both enable and constrain our experiences. Roig encourages a contemplation of space and the stories of belonging and exclusion they reflect.
