Arveprins Frederik 1776

This is a portrait engraving of Crown Prince Frederik, titled “Arveprins Frederik,” created in 1776 by Danish artist Terkel Kleve. This engraving is a profile portrait, likely intended as a commemorative piece for the young prince, depicting him in formal attire with a powdered wig. Kleve utilized a stipple technique in the creation of this artwork, which utilizes a dense series of dots to create varying shades of grey. This print is currently held in the SMK – Statens Museum for Kunst in Copenhagen.
