Futura 2000 made this painting, Never, Never, Land using spray paint, and it’s all about process. The way the paint’s applied gives it this raw, immediate feel. I’m really drawn to how he uses black and white to create such depth. The spray paint creates these hazy, almost smoky areas that contrast with the crisp lines of the figures. Look at those floating spherical forms – they’re not quite solid, more like sketches hanging in the air. It feels like you’re glimpsing into another dimension, a world that’s both familiar and alien. The texture is key; you can almost feel the graininess of the spray paint, which gives the whole piece a tactile quality. Futura started out as a graffiti artist, and you can see that influence here. It reminds me a bit of Keith Haring's work, in the way it blends street art with a kind of cosmic consciousness. It’s like he’s saying art can be both spontaneous and deeply thoughtful.
