"Voorstellingen uit het Oude testament" (Representations from the Old Testament) is an engraving by Joachim Ottens (1663-1719) and consists of eight separate scenes. It depicts events from the Old Testament, with detailed descriptions of each scene written in Dutch underneath each image. This engraving, dated 1689-1720, is an example of 18th century printmaking, and is currently part of the Rijksmuseum collection in Amsterdam. The scenes are characterized by a distinct use of color and detail in representing the biblical narrative, making it an intriguing example of the marriage of art and religious storytelling.
