This bronze medal, created by David van der Kellen in 1851, commemorates Willem III, King of the Netherlands. It features a profile portrait of the king on one side, and on the other, a symbolic representation of industry with crossed arrows and a wreath of leaves. The medal, currently housed in the Rijksmuseum, is a fine example of 19th-century Dutch medallic art. It showcases the skill of the artist in capturing the likeness of the king and in creating a powerful visual allegory of industry.
