What do you see in this piece? Curator: It whispers of neoclassical ideals, doesn't it? A cool detachment, a focus on line and form. Mercury, all wings and purpose, interrupts Calypso's solitude. I wonder, is she receptive to his message, or resistant to its intrusion? Perhaps both at once? Editor: That's a poignant thought - the dual feeling of resistance and reception!
