Enzo Cucchi made "Bersaglio" with paint on canvas. It’s a trip! You can see the brushstrokes, how Cucchi has layered the paint, pushing and pulling at the image. I like to imagine him working, standing close to the canvas, feeling the energy of the colors and forms. It looks like he started with a turquoise, blue-green, and yellow background, and then added these bright yellow figures and shapes on top. I wonder what was on his mind when he made this? That big, yellow ear looms like a sentinel. And is that a falling figure? Or maybe they're diving, leaping into the unknown, all rendered in this thick, creamy yellow that Cucchi uses so expressively. Painters like to look at each other's work; it’s like a conversation that spans across time. It’s a way of experimenting with forms and ideas, pushing the boundaries of what painting can be. Each gesture is like a thought, a feeling, a question, left open for us to interpret.
