Editor: Paul Maitland's "Kensington Gardens with Chairs and Figures"...it's almost ghostly, wisps of figures and chairs in a hazy green space. How do you interpret this work? Curator: Ah, Maitland! He captures a fugitive moment, doesn't he? For me, it's about the fleeting nature of leisure, those chairs suggesting a pause, a breath in the city's rush. It almost makes me want to lay down on the grass and watch the clouds. Editor: So, it's less about the place itself and more about the feeling of escape? Curator: Precisely! Like a stolen afternoon dream. Art is just a reflection of what is within. Editor: I never thought of it that way before. Thanks, that's great.
