Stay High 149 made this tag with spray paint on, I'm guessing, a train or a wall, somewhere, sometime. The thing about graffiti is the process, it’s about making your mark, but it’s also about the place and the moment. Here the yellow paint feels kinda drippy, kinda urgent, like he’s just trying to get it done, make it seen. You can see where the paint is thick and where it’s thin, where it's running - it's like a snapshot of the energy of the artist, the attitude of the moment. Look at the ‘S’, how it curves and twists, how it almost melts into the word. It’s like he’s bending the letters to his will, making them dance to his tune. And the halo! It's playful, almost mocking, but also kinda beautiful. This reminds me of Basquiat, in the way that he uses words and symbols to create his own language. It’s not about perfection, it’s about expression, about being seen, about staying high, you know?
