This ivory satin corset, created by B. Altman & Co. in 1901, is a fine example of women's undergarments from the early 20th century. The corset is adorned with delicate lace trim and features a row of button closures at the front. The garment's construction with boning and a tightly fitted design served to cinch the waist and create a desired feminine silhouette. It is currently housed in the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City.
