Dimensions 13 Ã 13 cm (5 1/8 Ã 5 1/8 in.)
Editor: So, here we have an anonymous engraving, "Poliphilus looking through the bower while his mistress Polia is approaching at a distance." It feels almost like a stage set, doesn't it? What do you make of it? Curator: It does have a theatrical air! I find myself drawn to the contrast between the solid architectural forms and the wild, untamed nature creeping in. It's as if the rational world and the passions are locked in an eternal dance. Do you sense that tension as well? Editor: Absolutely. The garden feels very…constructed, but the foliage is so unruly! I never thought of it that way. Thanks! Curator: My pleasure! It’s a constant reminder that art, much like life, is about finding harmony within chaos.
