Édouard Vuillard made ‘Silver Trees’ using pastel on paper. The colors are so soft and muted, almost like a memory. I love how he's built up the surface with these tiny little strokes, it feels like he's trying to capture the feeling of light filtering through the trees rather than just depicting them. If you look closely, you can see how the colors blend together to create a kind of hazy, dreamlike effect. I'm especially drawn to the way he's rendered the trees in the middle ground. They're almost like a shimmering mirage, a fleeting glimpse of something beautiful. This piece reminds me a bit of some of Bonnard's landscapes, especially in the way they both use color to create a sense of atmosphere. It’s like Vuillard is showing us that art is an ongoing conversation, full of whispers and echoes. The beauty of art lies in its ability to evoke feelings and experiences that words can't quite capture.
