"Heilige Catharina in nis" is a print created between 1485 and 1490 by the Master of the Amsterdam Cabinet. The print depicts Saint Catherine of Alexandria, a popular figure in Christian art. She is traditionally depicted with a sword and a spiked wheel, instruments of her martyrdom. The Master of the Amsterdam Cabinet was a prolific printmaker active in the late 15th century, though little is known about their identity. The small scale of the print, measuring only 120 mm by 38 mm, suggests that it was likely intended for personal devotion. This print is a fine example of the detailed and expressive style of Northern Renaissance engravings.
