Editor: Here we have Martin Schweig's "Untitled (bridal portrait)" from the Harvard Art Museums. It's such an ethereal photograph, almost dreamlike. What do you make of it? Curator: Well, isn't it something? I'm struck by the staged artifice, that romantic veil against, shall we say, rather assertive potted plants. It feels both meticulously planned and slightly absurd, doesn't it? Editor: Absurd in what way? Curator: In the contrast between the delicate bride and the rather imposing foliage. It makes me wonder about the performative aspect of weddings and the images we create to capture them. Editor: So, it’s more than just a pretty picture. Curator: Oh, certainly. It's a little theatre, a beautiful, sepia-toned stage where we play out our ideas of love and commitment. Now, tell me, what does it whisper to you? Editor: That's a new way to see wedding photos. Thanks!
