Editor: This is an untitled photograph by Thomas Schütte. It's unsettling, almost grotesque with the exaggerated features and vibrant colors. What provokes such a strong reaction, in your opinion? Curator: I find a strange sort of beauty in it. Schütte captures something deeply human in these almost grotesque figures. Do you think he's maybe playing with ideas of beauty and the grotesque, turning them on their head? Editor: Perhaps! It certainly makes me rethink what makes art appealing. Curator: Me too! It's a reminder that art doesn't always have to be pretty to be powerful.
