Charles William Taylor made this print, Kent, and it’s a place made from careful, deliberate marks. Each line feels chosen, a testament to process and control. The density of the marks creates a rich texture. Look at how the light plays across the fields and foliage, built up with such precision. In the foreground, the dense, almost manicured plant life contrasts with the open sky. There is a horse and cart. The landscape feels both inviting and somehow remote, like a dream. The marks feel so alive and so precise, it reminds me of other graphic artists like Käthe Kollwitz. There is a sensitivity to the relationship between the artist and the image, but also the viewer. Art becomes a conversation between different minds, and the possibility of endless interpretations, that's why it continues to move and inspire.
