This black and white engraving titled "Drie wijzen uit het Oosten" (Three Wise Men from the East) was created by Dutch artist Dirk Jurriaan Sluyter in 1854. The piece, currently housed in the Rijksmuseum, depicts the Three Wise Men gazing upwards at a bright star, a depiction of the biblical story of the Magi who followed the Star of Bethlehem to find the newborn baby Jesus. The engraving's small size, 156 mm high and 100 mm wide, showcases Sluyter's detailed craftsmanship and focus on the solemn moment of the Three Wise Men's pilgrimage.
