Reclining girl

Does the presence of the bird add an unsettling, political edge, or do you see something different? Editor: The bird… I hadn’t immediately linked that to a specific political idea. But the unease in her posture makes sense. It's a kind of rebellious assertion of a modern sensibility, disrupting established art historical conventions, right? Curator: Precisely.
