Elisabeth Fulda made this drawing of a salt shaker, probably with graphite and maybe a bit of colored pencil. It’s so quiet, this little drawing, so focused, like she was really looking. I like how Fulda isn’t trying to trick us, she shows the thing as it is, but still gives it this soft glow. It’s about the process of looking, you know? The way the lines define the shape, but also let the light through. You can almost feel the glass, cool and smooth in your hand. The silver top is especially nice – see how she uses these tiny marks to give it texture? It’s not just a drawing of a salt shaker; it’s about how we see and feel things. It reminds me a bit of Morandi, the way he painted bottles, always searching for something deeper in these everyday objects.
