This little bank was made by the A.C. Williams Company. Doesn’t it make you think about touch? The cool, smooth, almost chocolatey, surface. I’m so curious about the process of making it. Was there a mould? How did the artist decide to create this specific pose? I can almost imagine the person who designed it, maybe playing with their own cat. I wonder about the conversations artists have across time. It is like there is an ongoing exchange of ideas, inspiring each other’s creativity. Think about the long history of depicting animals in art. I always think that the way the tail curls here makes the piece, don’t you?
